International Health Services Incorporated Company Established

On 3 August 2018, an amendment (Turkish language) was made in the Decree Law on Some Regulations in the Field of Health, establishing the International Health Services Incorporated Company (USHAŞ). The purpose of the company is to facilitate health tourism in Turkey. All shares of USHAŞ shall be owned by Ministry of Treasury and Finance.

The duties of USHAŞ are to: 

  • Promote the services offered in Turkey in the field of international health services.
  • Support and coordinate the activities of public and private sector in terms of health tourism.
  • Make recommendations to the Ministry of Health on policies and strategies related to international health services, standards of service delivery and accreditation criteria. The initial capital of USHAŞ is TRY 10 million (approximately GBP 1.28 million). USHAŞ shall be not be subject to the conditions set out under the Public Procurement Law, except for the provisions relating to penalties and preclusion from participating in tenders.
