The coming into force of the Regulation on the Code of Conduct and Discipline of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office for Patent Attorneys and Trademark Attorneys, crystallised for the Board of Directors of FICPI Turkey the subject of the opening seminar as the Code of Conduct and Discipline Rules. The Board decided to organise two seminars in collaboration with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office to reach as many patent and trademark attorneys as possible.
The first seminar was held in Ankara on 30 October 2017 with more than 50 participants in addition to the speakers, the Office personnel and FICPI members. The second seminar was held in İstanbul, on 31 October 2017 with more than 65 participants in addition to the speakers and FICPI members.
The aim of the seminars was to provide information, real-case experiences and awareness for the Turkish attorneys on the Code of Conduct and Discipline, which is quite a new topic in Turkey, and to introduce FICPI Turkey to the attorneys. Four attorneys showed an interest during the course of the seminars in becoming a member of FICPI, and it is expected that other membership applications will be received in the near future. From the feedback received and the interest shown in the seminars, it was agreed that the desired outcome had been achieved through these events.
