Data Protection And Privacy Turkey Aquick Look At 2017 And The Year Ahead
Turkey is now 3 months away from the deadline or fulfilling the compliance with the Data Protection Law and in 2017 we were all busy with adaptation with the Law in the absence of well-established rules and practices. It seems that our efforts will continue in 2018.
The period for appeal before the Court of Cassation has been reduced from one month to two weeks. Two-week period is intended to establish consistency between the appeal periods before both the regional appellate courts and the Court of Cassation.
Use Requirement Evidence On Use And Compulsory License In New IP Law
The IP Law abolished the provisions on “Use Requirement of Patents” and “Evidence on Use” and linked the use requirement to the Compulsory License as sole consequence of non-use of a patent. The new approach created many question marks.
