Scholarships and Mentoring Support to 50 University Students and Our Donation to UNICEF Türkiye in Wake of Kahramanmaraş Earthquakes.
To the people of the Republic of Türkiye,
We are devastated by the great loss lives and the enormous moral and material destruction caused by the Kahramanmaraş earthquake across the 10 provinces in the affected region.
We pray that all those who have passed away may rest in peace, and wish swift recovery, patience and resilience to those rescued and yet to be rescued.
We wish the greatest ease in their rescue efforts to the volunteers, and all public and private institutions and organizations that are putting their hearts and souls into taking immediate action to save those under the rubble and deliver aid to those in need. We pray for the salvation of all of those under the rubble in the shortest time possible.
We demand that the legal, administrative, constructional, and architectural measures necessary for our country's recovery from this catastrophe, and for the prevention of such great loss of life and livelihoods in the wake of similar future seismic activity, to which our country is no stranger, be taken as soon as possible. We are striving to fulfill our duties in this regard.
Our firm has decided to provide monetary and moral support with the aim of securing the future of the children in the affected region, and in doing so to help mend the great wound our country has suffered.
In this regard, our firm has donated a sum of 50,000 Euros to UNICEF Türkiye, a pioneering leader and expert in emergency humanitarian aid, which is familiar with the region and the activities of which are audited within the framework of international transparency and accountability principles accepted by the United Nations.
UNICEF has been working in the region since Monday, February 6, in coordination with the Republic of Türkiye and the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD). UNICEF delivers much-needed winter clothing, blankets, and hygiene products for children, ensures the evacuation of children living in affected areas to safety, and provides protection for unaccompanied minors and emergency psychosocial support to children and their families.
In addition to this, we will be providing 50 university students with limited means from the 10 provinces that were adversely affected with scholarships and mentoring support throughout their higher education. We will announce the details regarding the application process for this scholarship programme in the upcoming days.
Our hearts go out to the wounded and the families who have lost their loved ones.
