Gün + Partners Participated in the Public Health and Intellectual Property Crimes Workshop in Ankara

On 29–30 July 2026, Gün + Partners participated in the Public Health and Intellectual Property Crimes Workshop organized by the Intellectual Property Rights Department of the Turkish National Police in Ankara.

The two-day workshop brought together senior representatives from the Turkish National Police, public authorities, international organizations, academia, rights holders and legal practitioners to discuss the intersection between intellectual property crimes, consumer safety and public health.

Gün + Partners was represented at the workshop by Atahan Erkul, Ayşenur Çıtak Bozdağ, Direnç Bada, İbrahim Gündoğdu, Süleyman Tehci and Zeynep Seda Alhas.

Our partner Direnç Bada moderated the panel entitled “The Perspective and Applied Methods of International Law in Pharmaceutical Safety,” featuring representatives from the World Health Organization and the Pharmaceutical Security Institute.

Alongside the panel sessions, Gün + Partners represented several clients at its dedicated exhibition stand. The stand provided an important opportunity to introduce genuine products and their distinguishing features to police officers from across Türkiye, raise awareness of the risks associated with counterfeit goods, and exchange views on the practical challenges and solutions encountered during raids and other enforcement actions.

The participation of Mr. Ali Fidan, Director General of the Turkish National Police, together with senior officials, operational officers and their supervisors, underlined the importance attached to the fight against intellectual property crimes. The workshop also enabled meaningful discussions on practical enforcement needs and further strengthened cooperation between law enforcement authorities, rights holders and their representatives.

We thank the Intellectual Property Rights Department of the Turkish National Police, particularly its Director Mr. Cemil Cem Aydın, for organizing this valuable workshop and for its continued efforts to promote effective cooperation in the protection of intellectual property rights and public health.

Gün + Partners remains committed to contributing to initiatives that strengthen awareness, coordination and effective enforcement against counterfeit goods across Türkiye.
